Defiance
Let me start by saying there are many things the Web-Mistress is very good at. However, It seems we have hit upon a skill that still needs some polishing. You may recall a certain Steve McQueen fan. After an initial wing clipping failed to correct the behavior the Web-Mistress decided to have another go. I looked outside on Sunday to see her with a bird under her arm and a pair of scissors. I asked her if she needed a hand. She indignantly inquired as to why on earth I didn’t believe she had the situation well in hand. Chastised, I retreated to my football game to wait for her report.
It turns out that the Web-Mistress and scissors might not be the best thing that ever happened to my chickens. She returned from her animal husbandry duties and let me know that she didn’t think she got the wings even. At this point all I could think of was a fat chicken listing to the right as it fell from the sky. Nevertheless, the Web-Mistress was confident that this time we would no longer have an escaping bird.
Clearly this is outside of the coop.
In the words of Lee Corso, “Not so fast my friend”. As the picture above testifies, somehow the bird managed to turn the list into a barrel roll right over the fence.
Time for another trip to solitary. And maybe some more research before we grab the scissors again.
