Getting Back to Work
Wow! Beyond the black widow and vehicle fire, I stepped away for ten days and much has changed. Kudos to the Web Mistress for her hard work while I was away. She finished our first drainage project, kept the gardens growing, and pulled in the first of the cherry harvest! All while managing the kids and animals. Great job!
That being said, coming home I was shocked by the growth in some of the garden beds. The raspberries are getting huge, but that is nothing compared to how big the winter squash is. With the temperatures rising this week, I expect further explosion. And the cherries are about to keep us busy this weekend as they are just about ready to harvest. More updates soon on all of that.
On the maintenance side, though, the drive needs sprayed, gutters need cleaned, there are lawn and garden projects, and the deer stand needs to get set for the upcoming season. Don’t tell the Web Mistress but it’s time to start looking at rabbits or meat chickens!
